I'd like to give a brief update on the work of the INCITS CS1.1
Committee on the "Requirements for the Implementation of Role Based
Access Control (RBAC)".
Many of the members of this distribution list were contacts I made at
the 2006 Burton Group Catalyst program. At that time the INCITS CS1.1
work was in the early draft stages. We have made substantial progress
since then. While we have yet to release the Draft Standard, much of the
interoperability and implementation details have been captured in our work.
At this point we are looking for Industry Use Cases which may be cited
in the area of System-to-System RBAC information exchange. The nature
of this interface may be Technical or Managerial and does not necessarily
imply AUTOMATION. We have looked at SPML, RBAC-PIM,
XACML, Joker Groups as examples of this interchange. In a broader
context, this type of interaction might represent Corporate Mergers,
Company Reorganization or Provisioning System interoperability.
If you would be interested in participating in this industry-shaping
work, we welcome your input and would be pleased to work with your firm.
