Scott Anderson is an Information Technology Specialist and Security Task Lead at Department of Veteran’s Affairs Information Technology Workforce Development. Since joining the VA in 2011, Scott has taken over as Security Task Lead for the Information Security Officer (ISO) and Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) competency models and associated training development. As the Security Task Lead, Scott and his team provide specific competency-based IT training to VA’s ISO’s and NSOC personnel. He is part of the development team for the annual Information Security and Privacy Awareness web based training course for over 400,000 employees, contractors, students, and volunteers throughout VA.
Prior to coming to VA, Scott served 24 years in the US Navy submarine force. He was stationed in Connecticut, Hawaii, and Georgia, where he served on four different submarines and two shore commands. In addition to Associate and Bachelors of Science Degrees, Scott earned a Master of Science in Information Technology. He has earned a graduate certificate in Information Security and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Scott is a member of Federal Information Systems Security Educators Association (FISSEA).
