Dr. Dipankar Dasgupta

Dr. Dipankar Dasgupta is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. His research interests are broadly in the area of scientific computing, design, and development of intelligent software solutions inspired by biological processes. His areas of special interests include Artificial Immune Systems, Genetic Algorithms, Neural Networks, multi-agent systems and their applications in cyber security. He received research funding from various federal organizations including the U.S. Navy, NSF, DARPA, DoD, ONR DHS and IARPA. Prof. Dasgupta has more than 200 publications which are being cited widely. Professor Dasgupta is the founding Director of Center for Information Assurance (http://cfia.memphis.edu), a “National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Research (CAE/CAE-R),” as designated by the DHS and NSA. He was a program Co-Chair on Nature Inspired Cyber Health at the National Cyber Leap Year Summit (August 17-19, 2009, Arlington, VA). Prof. Dasgupta was the Principal Investigator of the DHS/FEMA-funded Adaptive Cyber Security Training (ACT Online) Program, a multi-track, multi-level cyber-security training program. It utilized a state-of-the-art learning technology for more effective online cyber security education, and has been used nationwide through FEMA website. These materials are now being updated and tailored to the needs of individual companies; e.g., a current project involves creating a web-based Cyber Security Training Suite targeting a major organization’s employees, vendors and customers. which is available nation-wide. Due to his reputation as a top scholar, Dr. Dasgupta is frequently invited to speak (given more than 150 talks) at leading conferences and at other universities; he has been involved in the program organization and review structure of more than 85 international academic conferences, also serving as a speaker, panelist at many. Dr. Dasgupta is a senior member of IEEE and Life Member of ACM, and is the chair of IEEE Task Force on Artificial Immune Systems. involved development of a multi-track, multi-level cyber-security training program for all U.S. citizens.
