Joseph Demarest began his career in Law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff in Hillsborough, FL before joining the FBI as a Special Agent in 1988. Over the course of his career he has worked a variety of investigative matters, including counterterrorism, white collar crime, organized crime/drugs, violent crime and foreign counterintelligence. Mr. Demarest has served as SWAT team leader in the New York Division, as Shift Commander for the PENTTBOM investigation, and on the Joint Task Force at US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He has held a number of supervisory and leadership positions at FBI Headquarters and in the field, including Assistant Director In Charge (ADIC) of the New York Division and Assistant Director of the International Operations Division. Mr. Demarest currently serves as Assistant Director of the Cyber Division, where he manages over 600 employees dedicated to the investigation of both national security and criminal computer intrusions.
