A holistic approach to cybersecurity education must include evidence-based short-term interventions that address the need to simultaneously achieve breadth and depth of curricular content; and strategic long-term initiatives that address the entire ecosystem of educational, professional and environmental demands. This two-hour panel session will discuss each of these challenges in turn. During the first hour, panelists will discuss current projects to enhance breadth and depth in cybersecurity education and the importance of establishing a solid evidence-basis as the foundation for future efforts. During the second hour, panelists will discuss the need for long-term initiatives that strategically address the entire cybersecurity education and workforce development ecosystem. Topics will include pipeline challenges, developing career interest, the post-secondary landscape, faculty and professional development.
