G. Mark Hardy has worked in the information security industry since 1976, consulting to government, military, and commercial clients. His professional background includes information security planning and policy development, data encryption and authentication (including breaking commercial cryptographic algorithms), software development and strategic planning for electronic commerce, and writing commercial risk assessment software. He was the principal spokesman for Secure Computing Corporation and AXENT Technologies, Inc., speaking at over 100 conferences, shows, and seminars over the past three years. Mr. Hardy has served on three ANSI security committees (X12, X9F, and X9E9), writing security standards for electronic commerce and the financial industry. He has developed security plans for several U.S. military commands in the United States and Europe, and developed the communications security encryption requirements for a military satellite program. A popular speaker, he also writes about security issues, and is the primary author of the Information Security Handbook for Enterprise Computing and the Client/Server Security Handbook, and was a contributing author to Network Security Secrets. A graduate of Northwestern University, he holds a BS in Computer Science, a BA in Mathematics, and a Masters in Business Administration.

Schwartau’s new book, “Cybershock” (June 2000) is a non-technical look at hackers, hacking and how security affects families, companies and nations. It is meant for the average computer user or for organizations to help make their staffs aware of security concerns in the workplace. “Time Based Security", (1999) redefines the needs and premises of information security by offering a means to measure security in the protection of networks. He is also the author of "Information Warfare: Chaos on the Electronic Superhighway" (Thunder's Mouth Press, NY, 1994, 1996) "Information Warfare: Cyberterrorism, Second Edition", and "Complete Internet Business Toolkit", one of the first books to ever be banned from export out of the United States. He has contributed to both of AFCEA’s Cyberwars Books and several international volumes on CyberWar and Espionage. Mr. Schwartau is also the author of the prophetic 1991 novel, "Terminal Compromise" which details a fictionalized account of an information war waged on the United States. - - - - -Peter Shipley joined OneSecure from KPMG Consulting LLC, where he was Chief.Security Architect, responsible for designing secure networks and managing security related issues. As an entrepreneur, Peter was founder and principal consultant of Network Security Associates, which provided custom security services to clients such as Wells Fargo and the U.S. Post Office. As a security consultant for Wells Fargo, Peter wrote the secure back-office system that Wells Fargo uses to control checking accounts. Peter was also founder of Direct Network Access Ltd.(DNAI), an ISP subsequently acquired by RCN. During his career, Peter has also held positions as security manager at TRW Financial Systems (TFS) and Teknekron Communications Systems, Inc. (TCSI), a provider of software products and services for the global telecom industry. Throughout his more than 14 years as a security consultant, Peter has established a reputation for technical leadership in the area of Internet communications and network security. In 1988, he wrote the first automated Internet scanning system, "NetSweep," which led a new generation of automated network security auditing systems. Peter's work on NetSweep served as the basis of many popular commercial tools used today. He also built and maintained one of the first bug databases, which was used to seed CERT, one of the original Internet computer emergency response teams. As a recognized authority on security, Peter is frequently called as an expert witness in legal cases and often provides expert analysis in media stories about the Internet, security and hackers. His many media appearances have included The New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Jose Mercury News, C|Net, as well as numerous appearances on television and in technology trade publications. Peter studied computer science at the University of California at Berkeley and College of Alameda. In addition to legal and media appearances, Peter is a frequent speaker at conferences on security, privacy, hacking, and has written a number of papers on these subjects.
