Cybersecurity Education

  • On January 14, 2017, the ACM Joint Task Force on Cybersecurity Education (JTF) is developing comprehensive curricular guidance in cybersecurity education to support future program development and associated educational efforts. The ACM JTF recently released its CSEC2017 v. 0.5 report, which outlines progress to date, provides a curricular thought model, proposed curricular content, and positions the cybersecurity curricular recommendations within the broader context. This report is now open for review and public comment (comment period January 14-February 14, 2017)

  • The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine; Division on Engineering and Physical Sciences; Computer Science and Telecommunications Board; Committee on 21st Century Cyber-Physical Systems Education in late December 2016 published A 21st Century Cyber-Physical Systems Education which examines the intellectual content of the emerging field of CPS and its implications for engineering and computer science education.

  • The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber Defense (CD) sponsored by NSA and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) promotes higher education and research in IA/CD and helps to increase the number of professionals with IA/CD expertise in various disciplines.

  • CAE Community is community of Universities and Community Colleges that have distinguished themselves as centers of academic excellence to NSA and DHS.

  • The National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program improves the education of technicians who work in advanced technology industries that are important to the nation’s economy and security.
