Building Post-Quantum Cloud Services: Deploying FIPS 203:ML-KEM at AWS

February 25, 2025

Presenters

Jake Massimo - Amazon Web Services

Description

In response to the evolving landscape of cryptographic security and the advent of quantum computing, AWS has proactively integrated the Module-Lattice-Based Key Encapsulation Mechanism (ML-KEM) into its open-source cryptographic library, AWS-LC. This submission outlines the implementation process, validation under FIPS 140-3 standards, and practical deployment experiences of ML-KEM within AWS-LC. We aim to provide insights into the challenges and solutions encountered during this integration, contributing to the broader discussion on the adoption of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms.
