Abstract. We report on preliminary work on Private Set Intersection on lists of identifiers containing names and birthdate. The distribution of names is assumed to be close to what the US Census Bureau makes publicly available. The identifiers are allowed to contain commonly encountered errors. We use only basic techniques. Our aim is to establish a baseline with which other proposed solutions, particularly in the case of medical records, can be compared with. Initial results achieve about ninety percent detection rates, no false positives. Current code runs on a laptop and takes a few minutes.
