SP 800-53 Control Overlays for Securing AI Systems COSAiS
NIST Overlays Securing AI Systems Slack Collaboration
COSAiS leverages a newly launched NIST Overlays for Securing AI Systems Slack Channel, a hub for the cybersecurity and AI communities to hold discussions related to the development of these overlays. Slack channel members get updates, engage in facilitated discussions with the NIST principal investigators and other subgroup members, share ideas, provide real-time feedback, and contribute to the development of the overlays! All interested parties are welcomed.

Code of Conduct for NIST Collaborative Spaces
The following rules apply to all users of the NIST Overlays Securing AI Systems Slack Channel:
- Slack is authorized for use with low-impact level data, which means that it can only be used with non-sensitive data.
- Users cannot use Slack to share data that contains any proprietary, financial, personally identifiable information (PII), business identifiable information (BII), or other sensitive data as defined by their OU.
- If users are unsure about the type of data that can be shared using Slack, they should contact their Team Owner or OU IT Security Officer (ITSO) [For NIST employees] for guidance.
- Users can share both files and messages using Slack.
- When doing so, do not share files containing any sensitive data.
- For NIST employees, when sharing files with non-NIST users, only share with users who need to have access to the information that you are sharing, and only share files that are approved by your OU to share with non-NIST users.
- Slack users cannot create “public links” (as defined in Slack) to share files that would make the files publicly accessible.
- All messages are archived and monitored to ensure sensitive data is not uploaded to Slack.
- Each user cannot store more than 20 gigabytes (GB) of files in Slack. If a user exceeds this storage limit, the user will be unable to upload additional data to Slack.
- Slack will be used for collaboration purposes only and not as a medium to store official NIST records.
- Users can express their opinions on official NIST records when using Slack; however, the opinion itself does not constitute an official NIST record.
- Following the termination of a Slack account, Slack has no obligation to maintain or provide any data stored on Slack and may delete all user data.
- The opinions expressed in Slack are the author's own and do not necessarily represent the views of NIST.
