The Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board (ISPAB) is authorized by 15 U.S.C. 278g-4, as amended, and advises the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on information security and privacy issues pertaining to Federal government information systems, including through review of proposed standards and guidelines developed by NIST.

Please note: 

      • All visitors 18 years of age and older are required to present an accepted form of photo I.D. and, if bringing a vehicle onto the NIST campus, their vehicle registration card.
      • Effective MAY 7, 2025, agencies can only accept a state-issued driver’s license or identification card from states that are compliant with the REAL ID Act.  See the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) site to confirm if your ID is compliant.
      • NIST currently accepts other forms of federally issued identification in lieu of a state-issued driver's license, including an original passport, passport card, DOD Common Access Card (CAC), Veteran ID, Federal Agency HSPD-12 IDs, Military Dependent ID, Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC), and TSA Trusted Traveler ID.
      • For non-U.S. citizen visiting the NIST campus, the form  NIST-1260 must be fully completed and submitted. The information submitted will be used to conduct a routine background check of that individual, which must be completed before they can enter the NIST campus.

    NOTICE: All in-person attendees must be pre-registered to gain entry to the NIST campus. Deadline to register for in-person is January 14, 2026. There is no deadline to register for the virtual (webinar) option. Photo identification must be presented at the guard to be admitted to the workshop. International attendees are required to present a passport. Please see the Visitor Information webpage for more details.  Attendees must wear their conference badge at all times while on the campus. There is no on-site registration for meetings held at NIST.

    A member of NIST's staff will enter information provided in the registration link into the NIST Visitors Registration System. You will receive a confirmation email once entered.  With the Virtual (Webinar) registration option, an email confirmation with the Zoom for Government information to join the meeting will be provided immediately.
