cognizant security officer/authority

Definitions:

  An entity charged with responsibility for physical, technical, personnel, and information security affecting that organization. Note: Within an organization, there may be a hierarchy of cognizant security officers/authorities existing at a variety of echelons (e.g., a specific geographical area, a specific military base or activity, etc.) with each cognizant security official/authority having sole jurisdiction within that area or activity.
