Online Informative References Submissions

We welcome your participation in the Online Informative Reference (OLIR) Program.  The NISTIR 8278Ar1 (Revision 1) National Online Informative References (OLIR) Program: Submission Guidance for OLIR Developers contains detailed participation requirements and all procedures involved during the life cycle. Developers of Informative References considering a submission are welcome to contact NIST with questions. Questions and draft Informative Reference documents should be directed to [email protected]. Submitting parties can expect to hear back from NIST within one business week of their electronic correspondence.

When submitting the Informative Reference package, the following documents should be included:

  1. A signed Participation Agreement (see Appendix A) within NISTIR 8278Ar1
  2. The General Information spreadsheet of the mapping, available on the Focal Document templates page
  3. The populated OLIR spreadsheet using the appropriate Focal Document template
    • The selection of the template is at the Developers discretion, with options including a Crosswalk, Set Theory, or Supportive Mapping approach. The required fields for each option are outlined in Section 3.2 of the NISTIR 8278Ar1
