Abstract. In the last decade, concretely efficient new designs in symmetric cryptography that are friendly for zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), secure multiparty computation (MPC), or (fully) homomorphic encryption (FHE) environments have been appearing at an increasingly fast pace. In the talk we review this space, and ask ourselves: How did we get here and where do we go from here?
